Update on return to training outdoor

Hi All,

A frustrating time with the lack of clarification as to when we will be able to return to training, British Gymnastics are keeping all clubs as up to date as possible with step by step plans for when we have the green light to return.

Once we have the go ahead to return we have full resources to make everyone feel safe and understand what is required. Everyone will be informed via this website as well as a reminder text asking you to view our site.

Permission & outdoor testing

We have permission to use the field outside Francis Scaife, but no toilet facilities, this reduces the time we can exercise outside safely . However over the past two weeks a group of 6 elite gymnasts including those who are on performance pathway GBR - ENG squads have been meeting up to condition on the field.

As we are only allowed to meet with a group of 6 in total, we have tested this with social distancing in place, cleaning of equipment and only 90 - min sessions with 15 mins extra allowance each side for setting up - cleaning and clearing away. We found this to be successful with no problems currently to feedback.

The short term plan

As we move forward and in line with government guidelines and also checking with British Gymnastics, I have been informed coaches can coach one group of 6 including themselves, each spaced around the field, this means depending on how many coaches can attend safely will depend on who, and how many we can invite to each session.

We shall do our upmost to include everyone at least once a week, weather permitting and coaches availability.

Invites

I will be in touch via text in July to invite gymnasts to attend, please note once you have been assigned to a coach, you will not be able to change which coach you work with as these are safety guidelines. If parents can confirm the gymnasts attendance asap that will be helpful. if you are unable to attend it gives the opportunity for others to take the place.

Health checks

it is paramount that we are all safe, check with www.GOV.uk for the latest updates on symptoms to look out for, Do not attend if you or your child are unwell in anyway.

Cost

The sessions will be charged at £5 per session per person which must be paid in advance in to the gym account no 82010234 sort code 60-16-35 please reference this with child's name to confirm the place. this must be 48 hours in advance of the session.

Due to the logistics of putting the sessions together failure to turn up for a booked session with a coach will result in no refunds being given.

What to bring

Please bring with you

Hand sanitiser

Towel or mat

Water

Sun cream

Gymnasts must be responsible for there own belongings only and will be expected to sanitise all there own items.

Drop off and pick up

All Parents are requested to drop off in the car park at the time given by Kandy via text and picked up at the designated time.

Important note

All members who have paid there fees at the end of March will still be in credit when we return, therefore you will still need to pay to attend the field sessions .

Please remember all sessions depend upon weather permitting and also coaches availability.

If a session can not go ahead or a coach can not attend to take a particular group this will be cancelled via text from Kandy and re arranged for another day/time.

Lets get back to exercising together , look forward to seeing you all.

Thanks

Kandy xx
