My Story
I first came to the club in 2015 when I was 10 years old. I had been playing rugby for the local team for a few years previously when my sister came to visit to club wanting to join. Kandy roped me into coming for a taster session which I was quite reluctant to do because I was playing rugby with a load of lads tackling each other and messing around. Trampolining, wearing a leotard didn’t seem the done thing.
I went anyway and loved it instantly!
A year or so later I quit rugby and trained at the club 5 days a week pushing myself all the time.
I couldn’t wait to get to the club, everyone was so nice and I built loads of great friendships at Phoenix. Alfie was one of them and we had a great time at training pushing each other on the trampoline and trying not to get into trouble with Kandy!
Trampolining gave me many skills to take into the world that only a club like Phoenix could do. It is invaluable what I learnt at the club and I can’t think of anything better to do during that period of my life.
Some good memories were going to Loulé for an international competition and Greece for a training camp. These were amazing times having great fun with everyone and experiences I wont forget.
The club also started my addiction to fitness and working on myself. The frequent conditioning we did at the club was challenging and really pushed me to my limits.
I completed my first marathon last October and without the work ethic I gained at the club I wouldn’t have been able to do it. In all, the action packed 5 years I spent at phoenix were the highlight of my childhood and moulded me into the person I am today.
All credit goes to Kandy, the best trampoline/life coach I could have asked for.
