My Story
I started at the gym at age 7 and was part of the club for almost 12 years. I trained, competed, and once I turned 16 I became a coach as well. I loved being able to train with my closest friends and compete all over the country- even a few times in Portugal and Prague. We used to train 5 days a week and we wouldn't have had it any other way! This club has been such an important part of my life and has helped me to develop confidence, determination and perseverance, skills that have been so vital in all other areas of my life including school work, my university degree and now my job. The club has always had such a welcoming and warm atmosphere and everyone is so supportive of each other. Being part of the club not only equipped me so many important skills for life but has also been the place that I've made friends for life. Being part of this team has given me so many of my proudest and happiest memories.
This was my first ever trampoline competition! I was competing in the grade G category and I remember being so excited that I had been able to show off my new skill- a front somersault- to my family, who had come to watch me compete.
This is from the Yorkshire Championships which was always one of my favourite competitions of the year because the whole team would be there together. We all had our matching uniform and matching hair- braids must always be from left to right!!
I used to love doing synchro as well as competing as an individual. I remember being so happy that I was paired with Hannah for this competition. She has been and still is of my best friends ever since we met 15 years ago at Phoenix High Flyers!
I graduated from Newcastle University in 2022 and now work as a Speech and Language Therapist! I work with children with disabilities, Autism and special educational needs, which I absolutely love. I feel that having had the chance to work as a trampoline coach gave me so many useful skills that have helped me to excel in my job today!
